Allison Hoffmann

Allison Hoffmann is a December 2020 degree candidate in the Doctor of Business Administration program at the University of the Incarnate Word. Hoffmann is currently in her 14th year at Northwest Missouri State University, where she serves as the director of Academic Success & Retention. Hoffmann oversees academic advising and success coaching, academic support (tutoring and SI), orientation, first-year experience, and retention related activities. Under Hoffmann’s leadership, Northwest Missouri State was selected as the recipient of the 2019 American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) Excellence and Innovation Award for Student Success & College Completion. Prior to her current role, she served as a senior instructor in the Booth School of Business, director of the University Seminar program, and a provost fellow.

While a faculty member at Northwest Missouri State, Hoffmann earned the 2012 Teaching Excellence Award from the Midwestern Council of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs. She served as an academic advisor to 100+ students annually in the Booth School of Business and received the 2012 Outstanding Advising Award for Faculty Academic Advising from the National Academic Advising Association. She also served as an advisor or co-advisor to multiple student organizations, resulting in twice being awarded the Dean’s Award for Student Support.

Hoffmann earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Northwest Missouri State University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, son, and dogs. She may be reached at astrong@nwmissouri.edu.

Dr. Ryan Lunsford

Dr. Ryan Lunsford joined the University of the Incarnate Word in 2010 and currently serves as Professor of Management and Chairman of the Doctor of Business Administration. Professor Lunsford received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from The Texas A & M University System. He continued his graduate training at The University of Texas at Dallas where he earned both the Master of Science and the Master of Arts degrees building upon his international graduate university studies at The University of London and The London School of Economics. Having completed his dissertation examining the marketing of home education, he earned the Doctor of Philosophy in Management. Professor Lunsford teaches a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and executive courses both online and on-ground.

Previously, Dr. Lunsford was Dean at the Keller School of Graduate Management in Phoenix, Arizona, and Assistant Professor of Marketing and Founding Director of the Executive MBA Program at the Ken Blanchard College of Business at Grand Canyon University. Before academia, Professor Lunsford served a Dallas/Fort Worth non-profit educational corporation for five years as Director of Strategic Management.

Dr. Lunsford’s favorite classes to teach are the doctoral publication and presentation course and business ethics. In addition to serving as the Faculty Advisor for the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society, he is co-editor for 15 business textbooks for McGraw-Hill, Cengage, and Prentice Hall, and has published more than twenty peer-reviewed case studies.
