Author Biography:

Susan R. Cockrell

Susan R. Cockrell has her PhD in Accounting from The University of Alabama and is a CPA, CFE, and CGMA. She is a Professor of Accounting at Austin Peay State University teaching upper-level financial accounting, auditing, and systems and data analytics. Dr. Cockrell supervises the Graduate Teaching Assistants who teach the Accounting Monopoly Lab.

Brandon De Paolo Harrison

Dr. Di Paolo Harrison is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at APSU. He obtained his Doctorate of Business Administration in Accounting from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. His background is in healthcare accounting with over two decades of experience working for Public Accounting firms, as well as a hospital and healthcare system Chief Financial Officer (CFO). His research interests focus on healthcare, financial, and governmental accounting. Dr. Di Paolo Harrison is also the coordinator of the College of Business Study Abroad to Argentina and is a member of the City of Clarksville’s Internal Audit Committee.

Lesley H. Davidson

Lesley H. Davidson has a Master of Accountancy from Belmont University and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. She is a Master Instructor of Accounting at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee where she teaches Forensic Accounting, Foundations of Accounting, and Principles of Accounting courses. Her background is in tax and consulting and her research interest is primarily pedagogical.

Pennye Brown

Pennye Brown has a Ph.D. in Financial Management from NorthCentral University. She is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. She teaches Cost Accounting, Principles of Accounting, and Financial Statement Analysis. She worked in the field of accounting for over 20 years before becoming a faculty member. Her research interests include pedagogical research as well as Sarbanes- Oxley related topics.

Jennifer D. Thayer

Jennifer D. Thayer, J.D. is an assistant professor of accounting and oversees the VITA program at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee. Her teaching areas and research interests include Individual & Corporate Taxation, Accounting Education, and Principles of Accounting topics.
