Author Biography:

Kelly Pittman, CPA University of the Incarnate Word

Kelly Pittman is a Professor of Accounting at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting as well as a master’s in finance from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Her research interests include business and accounting sustainability practice and reporting, case studies, and the application of technology in accounting courses. Kelly serves as the accounting internship coordinator and faculty advisor to the accounting society at UIW.

Kelly is a CPA, with public accounting experience as an auditor for Ernst & Young. She joined UIW in 2010 and lives in San Antonio with her family.

Dr. Trish Driskill, University of the Incarnate Word Dr. Trish Driskill is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Tech University, and has a master’s in accounting from Texas Tech University. Her PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in accounting is from Northcentral University. Her scholarship is comprised of several published journal articles, reviewer for AABRI’s Academic Journals, a reviewer of papers for several AAA accounting conferences, and numerous academic conference presentations. Trish's research interests include accounting ethics, service learning, and case studies, but her true passion is classroom teaching. She is the primary instructor in graduate accounting ethics for UIW. At UIW, Trish enjoys advising students on different career paths, and recently initiated a new accounting course in professional practice to enable students to be successful in the profession.

Trish is a CPA, with public accounting experience as an auditor for Ernst & Young, and industry accounting experience as Assistant Controller for a large regional bank. Trish joined UIW in 2015, after a decade of teaching at Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde, Texas. She and her husband John live in Sabinal, Texas, where he manages their cattle ranching operations.

Dr. Tracie Edmond, University of the Incarnate Word Dr. Tracie Edmond is a Professor of Accounting at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Virginia Tech University and MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her Ph.D. in Business Administration from Capella University focused on Non-Profit Management Specialization. Her research focuses on service learning, tri-sector collaboration, and taxes. Tracie’s book “Tri-sector Collaborations, the Benefits of Three Sectors Working Together” was published in 2015. Tracie is the primary instructor of cost accounting and non-profit accounting at UIW.

Tracie is a CPA and has worked in several sectors, from government to corporate, including tax work at EY, AT&T and Valero. She serves on numerous nonprofit boards and is the founder of CAVALRY, a non-profit organization dedicated to “uniting the Education, Non-Profit, and For-Profit sectors to develop long-lasting, mutualistic relationships.”
