Dr. James DeConinck is a professor of marketing at Western Carolina University (WCU) where he primarily teaches sales management and negotiations. He obtained his Ph.D. From the University of Arkansas. Dr. DeConinck has served as the Director of the Center for Professional Selling and Department Head while employed at WCU. Prior to earning his doctorate degree, he worked ten years in industry for Sears in various roles in their warehouse division and as a salesperson for NCR Corporation and Business Systems Management, a small telecommunications company. Dr. Julie Johnson-Busbin is Professor of Marketing at Western Carolina University. Her research interests include buyer-seller relationships, customer defection, salesforce turnover and salesforce performance. She has published in the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, and the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management. Julie’s teaching interests are in consultative selling and business-to-business marketing. She completed her doctorate at Georgia State University. Before entering her doctoral program, she spent 7 years with AT&T in sales and marketing.
